Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Preparation of survey equipment and software. 

Preparation and development Preambles and Schedules of Rates, including input to Contract Payment terms and conditions, commensurate with client’s requirements.

Execution and assistance with survey and positioning equipment calibrations. 

 Ensure all survey data is of the required standard and in accordance with Customer specification and procedures. 

 Technical monitoring of survey operations including ensuring the appropriate system calibrations are in use. 

Prepare / verify Bills of Quantities and scope of work

Assess and handle claim, variation and extra work

Assist in contract close - out and final account settlement

Provide reasoned advice and forecasts on costs including conducting Contractor and Company audits.

Establish validity, negotiate and agree value of Variation Requests and Claims received from Contractor.

Calculation and computation of survey results 

 Understanding and review of project procedures and survey and inspection requirements 

Boundary surveys to locate the corners and boundary lines of a parcel of land. Conduct both record and field research, including any measurements and computations needed to set the boundary 

Lines in accordance with applicable laws and locating easement lines and encroachments. 

 Location surveys to provide information on the location of interior improvements to fulfil the requirements of a zoning permit 

 Site planning surveys for development permit applications, combining boundary and topographic 

surveys to plan design improvements and developments before construction begins. 

Construction surveys including staking out walls, buildings, roads, and utilities to provide 

Construction personnel with directions for implementing the development plans. 

Sub-division / partition surveys for planning of infrastructure projects

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Surveying / Civil Engineering / Geomatics or similar.

Experience:


Typically requires 15 years of relevant industry experience in Surveyor Plant/ Quantity surveyor positions

Technical Skills:


Survey experience relevant to the specific job requirements 

Knowledge of installation and configuration of contemporary survey-related hardware and software 

Understanding of calibration requirements and procedures for survey systems and sensors 

Understanding of spatial data manipulation and management 

Knowledge of geodesy 

 Knowledge of technical specifications and standards for relevant industry sectors (e.g. oil and gas, renewables etc)" 

 Proficient in Microsoft Office and geospatial data manipulation software 

Soft Skills:

Capable of representing Wood in a professional manner."
