Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Sustainable Destinations Event Manager will oversee the planning and delivery of the Sustainable Destinations Forum, organised by Green Destinations. The role will serve as the primary point will ensure seamless coordination across operations, venue, mobility, security, and on-site logistics. The manager will lead event planning and on-site execution, working with DXB Live, caterers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver a smooth, sustainable, and world-class experience for all participants.


Key Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Liaison & Coordination

  • Act as the primary liaison with Green Destinations, holding weekly coordination meetings to ensure operational alignment and fulfilment of contractual commitments.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth planning and delivery of the Forum.

Operational Planning & Event Delivery Oversight

  • Lead operational planning and stakeholder management for field trips (across the UAE).
  • Coordinate and oversee the Gala Dinner, hosted at an external venue, ensuring seamless delivery in collaboration with external partners

Supplier & Vendor Management:

  • Manage and coordinate appointed suppliers, including manpower providers for event staffing, technical crew, and show crew/build.
  • Oversee contracted partners for ground staff and other key service providers to ensure high-quality delivery

Sustainability, Accessibility & Health and Safety Alignment:

  • Collaborate closely with the Sustainability team on the SoC (Sustainable Operations Commitment) initiative to ensure the Forum aligns with the sustainability mandate.
  • Ensure full adherence to company policies and procedures, with particular responsibility for Health & Safety Policy and assurance standards.
  • Work with the Health & Safety and Security teams to ensure all safety standards are met and incident management procedures are effectively implemented.

Guest Journey & Experience:

  • Ensure a seamless guest journey by coordinating hospitality, mobility, and on-site services in line with standards of excellence.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma, preferably in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the events industry, ideally within conferences, forums, or large-scale events in the UAE.
  • Proven expertise in programme planning and management.
  • Proven experience in vendor and subcontractor management, with strong knowledge of contract compliance and cost control.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously, with an understanding of organizational dependencies and cross-functional workflows.
  • Excellent operational planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management, relationship-building, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively in a demanding operational environment.
  • Knowledge of health & safety frameworks, risk management, and incident management protocols.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
