Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Undertake a variety of tasks and be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team, to mentor junior SW engineers and to clearly communicate findings through presentations and reporting
Understand the requirements and come up with a high-level design and decompose them into detailed design for functional safety-relevant software components.
Mentoring junior software developers on design patterns, development best practices and DevOps trade-offs
Ability to create a software detailed design and support their implementation in software and API interfaces required from internal teams
Ability to develop complex software to satisfy design objectives
Clearly understand API design for extensibility and portability of software across multiple implementations
Excellent communication skills and liaise with the wider global teams within JLR
This role shapes software architecture, defines development and verification methodologies, and ensures strong alignment with ISO 26262, aSPICE, and enterprise QMS standards.
Must have
8-12 years of experience with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in functional safety-relevant application design and development
Should have worked in a complex automotive project, owning the responsibility for low-level design, implementation and validation
Experienced in design and development of software solutions in AUTOSAR
Hands-on experience in programming languages like C/C++
Knowledge of Agile SW development process
Hands-on experience in developing systems based on various IPC mechanisms
Key Performance Indicators: List the key performance indicators against which the person will be measured. These should cascade from the department/team performance indicators and should include units of measurement, if possible, but not targets
Autonomous system and software design
Understand and apply the existing standards, regulatory and constraints in autonomous system design
Should have a strong understanding of software development processes for safety critical system and apply them in design in accordance with ISO 26262
Derive Key Performance Software Indices (KPSI)
Support the intelligent software design and development
Efficient high-level and low-level design documentations of the product
Mentor the junior software engineers in the team
Liaise with wider global teams
Ability to develop complex software to satisfy design objectives
Understand complex user requirements and decompose them into functional, system, and detailed software requirements and architecture
Strong presentation and decision-making skills in proposal of software solutions and getting stakeholders' confidence
Excellent organizational, time management, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Telecommunication, Computer Science and Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
Working knowledge of a S/W intensive complex JLR program involving multiple suppliers and stakeholders in Bangalore and worldwide
A minimum of 3 years of experience in the Automotive industry (preferably in automotive S/W on functional safety relevant software architecture)
Proficient in programming languages C/C++
Experience with Embedded System Engineering
Experience with Resource management and Performance optimization
Experience doing Gap Analysis (Requirements vs Implementation)
Experience in Model Based Software Engineering Knowledge of Software Quality Processes and Methodology Knowledge in service-oriented architecture
Hands-on with UDS protocol
Hands-on with CAN Transport Protocol
Good knowledge of Adaptive AUTOSAR-based Communication and Diagnostic stack
Working knowledge of CAN/CANFD, LIN, Flexray
Vector COMStack communication with Davinci configuration tool
Responsible for Customer specific Communication software development, COM stack configuration and testing
Experience of working in ASPICE accredited automotive S/W T1 or Services company
Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, SAFe framework
Experience in Automotive SW middleware platforms
Strong understanding of software design and architectural patterns
