Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Swimming Pool Operator ensures the safety, cleanliness, and chemical balance of swimming facilities by testing water quality, maintaining filtration systems, and adhering to health regulations. Daily duties include checking chlorine/pH levels, cleaning, and repairing pumps and heaters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Water Chemistry Management: Regularly test and adjust chlorine and pH levels to comply with health standards.
  • Maintenance & Technical Repairs: Inspect and maintain pool pumps, heaters, and filtration systems to prevent shutdowns.
  • Cleaning: Vacuum, skim, and brush pool surfaces and clean deck areas, restrooms, and adjacent facilities.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety rules and ensure the facility adheres to local health department regulations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed logs of water quality tests, chemical additions, and maintenance activities.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Repair, paint, and maintain pool equipment such as diving boards, lane lines, and chemical feeders.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Certification: Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or similar certification is highly preferred or mandatory.

  • Physical Ability: Capable of performing manual labor, including bending, lifting, and working in extreme temperatures.
  • Experience: Previous experience in facility maintenance is often required (e.g., 2+ years).
