Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Optimize and refactor early-stage algorithms for simulations and real robots
  • Develop software tools to interface the user with simulated or real robots
  • Participate in the design and implementation of simulated and real robot experimental setups and experiments

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • MSc in Computer Science or equivalent or BSc in Computer Science + 2y of experience
  • Experience in trouble-shooting embedded systems and microcontroller peripherals
  • Experience in interfaces, IP protocols, and hardware subsystems and architectures
  • Proficiency in working with common embedded systems communication protocols
  • Some experience with implementing planning, control or estimation algorithms, some experience with sensor fusion and data processing applications.
  • Interest in electronics
  • Strong programming experience with C/C++, Python3 / Python2 / MicroPython
  • Experience in embedded system development and real-time operating systems and/or firmware development
  • Strong skills debugging, optimizing and unit testing
  • Familiarity with communication links such as CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, SPW, etc.
  • Able to work both autonomously and in a collaborative team environment
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the robotics field
  • Flexibility to work on more than one project at the same time and ability to switch project

Desired Candidate Profile

As a Embedded System Engineer, the candidate will be asked to design and implement embedded systems for robotic applications. The candidate will assist the team with the creation and the design of the algorithms that will run both in simulated environments and robots. To this end, a background in robotics or AI is preferred. The candidate should prove himself accountable and autonomous and should be able to work in a team. An MSc degree in computer science/computer engineering or similar is required for the position.
