Roles & Responsibilities

Role Summary

The System & Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and support of the Banks IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and security systems. The role requires strong hands-on technical expertise, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors to ensure high availability, performance, and security of IT services.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Administration

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers, virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V), and storage systems.
  • Perform system upgrades, patch management, backups, and disaster recovery (DR) testing.
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability; proactively address issues.
  • Implement and maintain Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and related services.

Network Administration

  • Manage and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Configure and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, MPLS, VLANs, wireless networks, and network security appliances.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and optimize bandwidth utilization.
  • Implement and enforce network security controls in line with organizational policies.

Support & Operations

  • Provide Level 1/2 support for system and network-related incidents and service requests.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation (network diagrams, system configurations, SOPs).
  • Participate in IT projects, migrations, and transformation initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

Strong knowledge of:

Systems: Windows Server, Linux, VMware/Hyper-V, Backup & DR solutions.

Networks: Cisco/Juniper switches, routers, firewalls (Fortinet/Palo Alto), VPNs, Load Balancers.

Security: Firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, patching.

Experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred) is an advantage.

Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Configuration).

Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, MCSA/MCSE, VMware VCP, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in system and network administration.
