This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Tank Construction Lead to join our team in Basra, Iraq

This project is to focus more resources towards improving maintenance and reliability on the Oil, Gas & Water Systems, required to efficiently support maintenance, turn arounds and engineering organizations with the appropriate qualifications and experience.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility to deliver assigned site duties in a safe and timely manner to ensure successful delivery of Tank Remediation Program scopes.

Key Objectives:

  • Support the Vessel & Tank Remediation Program Lead with safe and efficient delivery of the Tank Remediation program.
  • Promote a strong Health, Safety & Environmental culture. Lead by example. Ensure Tool Box Talks are structured, recorded & add value.
  • Embrace a one team culture.
  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of static equipment and provide the wide-ranging procedural, hands-on and soft skill support the role requires.
  • Thorough understanding of Oil Storage Tank repairs to provide guidance for field execution of tank refurbishment scopes, including shell section replacements, nozzle replacements, weld overlay repairs, internal coating application and ancillary equipment.
  • Ability to manage concurrent activities safely & effectively and deconflict SIMOPS.
  • Ability to communicate well with Maintenance, Inspection, Engineering & other peers to ensure timely tank remediation readiness.
  • Ability to communicate well with Operations to develop culture of best practise process isolation, de-pressuring, closed draining, flushing, purging, spading for consistency of safe equipment shutdown preparation & aid prompt re-commissioning.
  • Ensure vendors with required expertise, spares, products, consumables, scaffolding, vehicular and other enabling logistics are at the worksite when required.
  • Manage all aspects of tank remediation scope from start to finish including mobilisation to and de-mob from worksite. Strictly in accordance with; good oilfield practise, codes, procedures, quality benchmarks and standards.
  • Drive consistency in tank remediation preparation process using checklists and other tools to track readiness against agreed milestones.
  • Understand Security and Emergency Response rationale and mentor as appropriate.
  • Develop tank remediation schedule with Planner for effective delivery.
  • Working with procurement, ensure management of spares and materials. Prioritise and identify long lead items in advance.
  • Management of contractor performance, monitoring and mentoring.
  • Detailed daily reporting. Clear communication to back to back position through handovers pre / post field breaks.
  • Drive continuous improvements in efficiency and cost reduction of TRP delivery.br>

  • Duties performed at site with generally harsh climatic conditions.

Expected:

  • 15+ years experience in Petrochemical or Oil and Gas maintenance & engineering environment.
  • 5+ years experience in a Construction Supervisory role.
  • HNC qualification or higher in relevant technical discipline with strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
  • Good knowledge of asset management system (CMMS)
  • Work to the highest personal & professional standards to achieve or exceed set objectives.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and embrace clients charter values.
  • Foster good relationships and team working ethic with contractor groups to promote safe working practices and efficiency.
  • Experience of working in an integrated team from diverse locations required.
  • Experience of Safe Systems of Work.
