Key Objectives:

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Support the TAR Lead and TAR Coordinator with the safe and efficient delivery of the TAR program.
  • Promote strong Health, Safety & Environmental culture. Lead by example. Ensure Toolbox Talks are structured, recorded & add value.
  • Embrace a one team culture.
  • Thorough understanding of Turnarounds and Maintenance to provide guidance for field execution of TAR mechanical scopes, including all types of fixed equipment. Knowledge of pressure vessel repairs is preferable.
  • Ability to manage concurrent activities safely & effectively and deconflict SIMOPS.
  • Ability to communicate well with other functions, including Maintenance, Inspection, Engineering, Operations, Projects to deliver the plan.
  • Complete site visits for all mechanical scopes of work in support of site execution and complete visibility reports for the Mechanical Turnaround Scopes to ensure that all aspects of the job are captured within engineered work packages.
  • Develop mechanical work packages in line with Rumaila standards to ensure all aspects of the mechanical scopes have been captured within the work package.
  • Work with Operations to develop culture of best practice process isolation, de-pressuring, closed draining, flushing, purging, spading for consistency of safe equipment shutdown preparation & support efficient de-isolation and re-commissioning.
  • Ensure vendors with required expertise, spares, products, consumables, scaffolding, vehicular and other enabling logistics are at the worksite when required.
  • Supervision of mechanical contractor staff during Turnaround executions in support of the safe and efficient delivery of the Mechanical Turnaround work scope within the planned window.
  • Manage all aspects of Mechanical TAR scope from start to finish including mobilization to and de-mob from worksite. Strictly in accordance with; good oilfield practice, ROO engineering standards, safety and quality processes and procedures.
  • Drive consistency in TAR preparation process using checklists and other tools to track readiness against agreed Turnaround Milestones.
  • Understand Security and Emergency Response rationale and mentor as appropriate.
  • Provide input to on the duration and resource requirements to the planner to ensure accurate development of Turnaround execution schedules.
  • During Turnaround execution ensure that the Planner receives accurate progress on mechanical work scopes under their responsibility.
  • Working with procurement, ensure management of spares and materials. Prioritize and identify long lead items in advance.
  • Management of mechanical contractor performance, monitoring and mentoring during site execution.
  • Detailed daily reporting. Clear communication to back-to-back position through handovers pre / post field breaks and across shifts (day/night).
  • Drive continuous improvements in efficiency and cost reduction of TAR delivery.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Lead on-site team of Contractors
  • Site supervision of construction contractors for execution of pre-Tar and TAR activity, to plan
  • Safe execution of mechanical site activities
  • Ensure quality in construction execution
  • Input to site execution plan, helping to identify and mitigate any schedule risks
  • Identification of pre-TAR works
  • Interface between contractors, operations, Basra Oil Company (BOC) for site execution
  • Ensure materials availability at the work site in readiness for TAR execution
  • Ensure plant and equipment available and set up in readiness for TAR execution
  • Input to lessons learned


Desired Candidate Profile

Expected:

  • 5+ years experience in Petrochemical or Oil and Gas maintenance & engineering environment. With a proven track record for construction activities on oil and gas sites
  • 2+ years experience in Turnarounds
  • HNC qualification (preferably a degree) or higher in relevant technical mechanical discipline with strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
  • Intermediate communication (oral and written) skills in English
  • Good knowledge of asset management system (CMMS) - preferable
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and embrace clients charter values.
  • Foster good relationships and team working ethic with contractor groups to promote safe working practices and efficiency.
  • Experience of working in an integrated team from diverse locations required.
  • Experience of Safe Systems of Work.
