Position Snapshot

Title: Tax Manager

Overview:

The Tax Manager is responsible for leading and managing tax planning and compliance activities, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. This role directly impacts the financial health and sustainable growth of Agthia Group.

The Manager will work closely with senior leadership, external advisors, and various business units to design and implement tax-efficient strategies that support organizational goals. As an individual contributor, the role requires strong collaboration with senior management and cross-functional teams to drive tax optimization and support key business decisions.

This position reports directly to the Tax Director.


How Will You Make An Impact?

1. Tax Compliance and Reporting

  • Lead and oversee all tax planning activities, ensuring optimization of the Group’s tax position in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure all Group entities across various jurisdictions comply with tax laws, with accurate and timely filing of tax returns.
  • Oversee month-end closing processes and ensure timely and accurate tax reporting.
  • Manage external tax audits and ensure prompt resolution of any issues raised by auditors.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and policy, assess their implications, and advise leadership accordingly.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all tax-related inquiries and audits (both internal and external), maintaining strong relationships with tax authorities and external advisors.

2. Tax Planning and Strategy

  • Support the development and execution of tax-efficient strategies to minimize liabilities and enhance the Group’s overall tax position.
  • Collaborate with the Tax Director to provide tax guidance on mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructurings, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of the tax implications of key business decisions, including transfer pricing, tax treaties, and cross-border transactions.
  • Advise on tax-efficient corporate structures and identify opportunities for tax planning and optimization.

3. Tax Risk Management

  • Identify, assess, and manage tax-related risks across the Group’s operations.
  • Provide leadership in managing relationships with tax authorities, ensuring proactive engagement and resolution of any disputes or issues.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure that tax risks are appropriately monitored and mitigated.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams—including Finance, Legal, and Operations—to support business goals while maintaining tax efficiency.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors and legal counsel to proactively respond to regulatory changes and explore tax planning opportunities.

5. Tax Technology and Process Improvement

  • Leverage technology and tax systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in the tax function.
  • Drive continuous improvement in tax processes by identifying opportunities for automation and streamlining operations.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance.
  • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACMA, CA or ACCA.
  • Any relevant Tax certifications.

Experience

  • 10-15 years of relevant functional experience.

Functional Knowledge

  • Corporate Taxation.
  • International Tax.
  • Tax compliance & Tax accounting.
  • Transfer pricing.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions Tax.
  • Knowledge and understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).
