Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
We are currently seeking a passionate and talented Teacher of Chemistry to join our Secondary Section.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality learning experiences in an international context. The successful candidate will also play a vital role in enriching students lives beyond the classroom through world-class wellbeing and co-curricular programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Put student wellbeing at the heart of all you do, providing exceptional pastoral care and creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where all learners feel valued and secure.
- Take a research informed approach to planning and delivering engaging lessons that motivate, support and challenge all students.
- Foster a positive learning environment where students develop the skills, knowledge and understandings to thrive and succeed.
- Contribute to the holistic development of students through active participation in wellbeing and co-curricular programmes.
- Model and promote a love of life-long learning, actively contributing to the teaching of skills that will support students to flourish as learners.
- Utilise a range of assessment and feedback practices to ensure that students understand their next steps, supporting them with academic and personal growth.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop innovative and exciting learning experiences both within and across subject areas.
Desired Candidate Profile
A Bachelor s Degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Science Education with a specialism in Chemistry (required). A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in Chemistry, ideally within an international or British curriculum context. Experience teaching GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, or IB Diploma Chemistry is highly desirable. Strong command of the English language, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A proven commitment to professional growth, working collaboratively and supporting student success. A strong set of values that align with our BISJ vision and mission.
