Job Overview

We are a dedicated and Inspiring Teacher of Mathematics to join our School in Dubai. We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic about mathematics, with a subject specialism in Mathematics, capable of engaging and motivating students, and experienced in delivering high-quality teaching at both iGCSE and A Levels. Duties And Responsibilities

The holder of this post is expected to carry out the professional duties described below, as circumstances may require and in accordance with the schools policies under the direction of the Head of Secondary. Whilst every effort has been made to explain the main duties and responsibilities of the post, each individual task undertaken may not be identified. Employees will be expected to comply with any reasonable request from a manager to undertake work of a similar level that is not specified in this job description. Employees are expected to be courteous to colleagues at all times and provide a welcoming environment to visitors and telephone callers.

Learning and Teaching

  • Lead by example, upholding the highest regard for truth, justice, equality of opportunity, human rights, benevolence, and compassion.
  • Promote a positive school ethos based on the vision/values and a strong commitment to the wellbeing of students, staff, and the wider community.
  • Engage and motivate students to achieve beyond expectations, using excellent subject knowledge, pedagogy, interpersonal skills, and ICT to deliver inspiring learning experiences for all ages and abilities.
  • Plan and deliver lessons and programmes of learning that enrich and enhance the curriculum, taking full account of students individual learning needs, styles, preferences, and capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain excellent professional relationships with colleagues through active contribution to departmental discussions, academic meetings, and daily interactions.
  • Cooperate with colleagues to implement fair and consistent disciplinary practices in classrooms, across the school, and on school trips. Take active measures to protect students from all forms of abuse, including racist or sexist abuse, bullying, and corporal punishment.
  • Communicate openly and professionally with parents on a regular basis regarding their child s progress and attainment.
  • Contribute to and plan after-school activities and actively support school-community partnerships, including attendance at school/community events that may occur on weekends or evenings.
  • Undertake other reasonable responsibilities as assigned from time to time.

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare schemes of work and associated documentation.
  • Teach effectively and consistently, fully addressing students individual educational needs.
  • Set and mark work for completion in school, online, at home, or elsewhere as appropriate.
  • Promote students intellectual, moral, spiritual, cultural, physical, and personal development, providing guidance and advice on educational and social matters.
  • Participate in whole-school development, sharing and promoting best practices.
  • Seek methods, resources, and systems that reduce workload while maintaining or improving student outcomes.
  • Assess, record, and report on student development, progress, and attainment in line with personal and social needs.
  • Provide and contribute to oral and written assessments, reports, and references for individual students or groups.
  • Support students in setting personal targets, providing regular feedback to drive improvement.

Curriculum Development

  • Advise and collaborate with the Principal and colleagues on the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching materials, schemes of work, assessment methods, and pastoral arrangements.
  • Take responsibility for specific subjects and ensure UAE heritage and culture are embedded within the curriculum.

Continuing Professional Development

  • Continuously review teaching methods and programmes of work.
  • Be proactive and accountable for personal professional growth.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Education: Relevant UK teaching qualification: minimum of BEd or BA/BSc + PGCE/QTS in Mathematics.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of full-time teaching experience in a British school (UK or international). Must be able to teach iGCSE and A-Levels.

Competencies

  • Excellent working knowledge of the UK Curriculum and latest UK practice.
  • Strong IT and communication skills with excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Effective classroom and behavior management skills.
