Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Deliver a range of teaching and assessment activities, including tutorials and laboratory sessions at the undergraduate level.
Contribute to developing appropriate teaching materials to ensure content and delivery methods meet learning objectives.
Participate in the assessment process using various methods and techniques and provide effective, timely and appropriate feedback to students to support their learning.
Participate in the supervision of practical work, advising on skills, methods and techniques to assist in transferring knowledge.
Work closely with the course coordinator to ensure that all aspects of the course are delivered appropriately.
The employee is required to strictly adhere and comply with Sohar University policies, bylaws, and regulations that are related to their work.
Any other assigned tasks that fall within the competence of the department/faculty.
Desired Candidate Profile
Good first degree in the subject area from a recognised University. Preferably in the process of completing a Master's or PhD in a discipline taught by the Faculty.
Knowledge & Skills:
General:
- Fully conversant with the Omani labour law.
- Excellent written and spoken English/Arabic (following the department/faculty)
- Ability to use computers and relevant computer applications for the job.
- Clear and effective communicator.
- Interpersonal skills
- Resourceful (know where to find information for problem-solving).
- Team player, leads and supports changes to improve business performance.
Specifics:
- Aware of the Health and Safety requirements of staff at work and environmental conservation programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge in the subject area
