Roles & Responsibilities

We're looking for a Tech Lead to join Tavily and establish our new office in Abu Dhabi. You ll lead a growing team of around 12 technical professionals and play a central role in building the foundation for Tavily s operations in the region.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone with deep technical expertise and proven management experience who thrives in fast-paced, high-ownership environments.

  • Lead and mentor a diverse technical team, ensuring excellence and collaboration

  • Build processes and systems that enable the team to scale efficiently and deliver high-quality outcomes

  • Stay hands-on with infrastructure and system architecture while guiding technical direction across the Abu Dhabi office

  • Collaborate with leadership to align local priorities with Tavily s global strategy

  • Drive best practices in system reliability, scalability, and performance

  • Help shape the culture and growth of Tavily s new international office

Desired Candidate Profile

Proven expertise in backend and distributed systems (Python, APIs, AWS, Kubernetes/Argo), with a strong focus on building scalable and reliable infrastructure

  • Hands-on experience designing and deploying AI agents or RAG workflows in production environments
  • Deep understanding of retrieval strategies (dense, sparse, hybrid), context optimization, and methods to reduce hallucinations
  • Familiarity with modern agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or equivalent in-house systems
  • Demonstrated ability to design, own, and evolve complex system architectures
  • Track record of mentoring and leading multidisciplinary technical teams, setting direction and driving execution
  • Experience building and operating real-time, low-latency, large-scale systems
  • Strong background with databases such as Snowflake, MongoDB, and Redis
  • Practical experience with cloud-native architectures on AWS, from design to deployment
  • Comfortable thriving in fast-paced, high-ownership startup environments
