Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Technical Design Manager to lead and manage our Joinery Drafting Team for high-end interior fit-out projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing technical drawings, ensuring accuracy, coordinating with production and site teams, and delivering shop drawings in line with project specifications, timelines, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor the joinery drafting team

  • Review and approve shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and as-built drawings

  • Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, client requirements, and authority standards

  • Coordinate with project managers, production, site engineers, and procurement teams

  • Resolve technical issues related to joinery, furniture, and interior fit-out details

  • Ensure timely submission and approval of drawings to meet project schedules

  • Conduct regular design coordination meetings with internal teams and clients

  • Implement and maintain drawing standards, templates, and workflows

  • Support value engineering and design optimization without compromising quality

  • Ensure coordination between architectural, MEP, and joinery details

  • Monitor drawing revisions and maintain proper document control

  • Provide technical guidance during manufacturing and installation stages

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, or Civil Engineering

  • 8–12 years of experience in interior fit-out / joinery works

  • Minimum 3–5 years in a Design Manager / Senior Joinery Draftsman role

  • Strong knowledge of joinery detailing, materials, hardware, finishes, and manufacturing processes

  • Proficient in AutoCAD (mandatory); knowledge of SketchUp, Rhino, or BIM tools is an advantage

  • Excellent understanding of UAE interior fit-out standards and practices

  • Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines

  • Experience in high-end residential, commercial, or hospitality projects

  • Strong communication skills for client and consultant coordination

  • Experience working closely with factory production teams

  • Knowledge of ISO / QA-QC processes related to design and documentation
