Roles & Responsibilities

This position serves as a strategic advisor to the client's automation and IT leadership, defining and packaging automation and AI scope for large-scale AI data centers exceeding 1 GW capacity globally or regionally. The role ensures requirements are clear, coordinated, and market-ready while integrating AI management systems that automate operations at both individual data centre and campus levels. Acting as PMC technical lead advisor for automation, the position coordinates inputs from designers, operators, and vendors to develop comprehensive roadmaps for successful AI system implementation, bridging strategic vision with technical execution across hyperscale data centre environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the client s responsible lead to capture strategic objectives and translate them into high level automation and AI requirements for AI data centre campuses.
  • Has the ability to understand the automation requirements for the AI data centre and help in the establishment of Central Command centre which shall manage the following: BacNet /Command Centre Networks Incident Management- Cybersecurity Utilities management
  • Support the development of automation sections and prepare the following strategic documents: Technology Reference for Automation- AI development (Road maps).
  • Coordinate reviews rather than author solutions
  • Organize and facilitate design and technical review sessions, ensuring comments from client, designers, and operators are captured and resolved.
  • Embed automation into PMC controls and reporting
  • Integrate automation milestones, deliverables, and risks into PMC schedules, dashboards, and risk registers.
  • Report progress and issues to the client s governance forums in clear, non technical language focused on impact, options, and decisions required.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • Master's degree or professional certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL) preferred
  • 20+ years in technology infrastructure and automation projects
  • 10+ years in mission-critical data centre environments
  • 5+ years with AI data centres or hyperscale facilities (500MW+ capacity)
  • Proven track record in PMC or advisory roles supporting large-scale infrastructure
  • Experience translating executive strategy into technical requirements and roadmaps
  • Deep knowledge of data centre automation: BMS, DCIM, integrated control platforms
  • Expertise in BACnet protocols and command centre network architectures
  • Understanding of AI infrastructure requirements at facility and campus levels
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and incident management for critical infrastructure
  • Familiarity with utilities management systems for multi-site operations
  • Central command centre design and operational principles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience with 1GW+ data centre campus developments
  • Background with hyperscale clients (AWS, Microsoft, Google, Meta)
  • Experience with AI/ML infrastructure deployments
  • International or multi-region project experience
