Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly experienced Technical Safety Deputy Lead to support an upcoming engineering project. The role involves leading and supporting process safety, fire protection, and loss prevention activities during the detailed design phase, with a strong focus on ARAMCO project requirements and international engineering standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the Technical Safety Lead in managing all process safety, fire fighting, and loss prevention activities

  • Develop and review technical safety deliverables during the detailed design phase

  • Perform and review fire and gas studies, hazardous area classification, escape & evacuation studies, and fire protection layouts

  • Carry out consequence modeling and risk assessment studies using Phast (DNV)

  • Perform firewater network and hydraulic calculations using PIPENET

  • Ensure full compliance with ARAMCO standards, SAES, SAMSS, and international codes

  • Review vendor documents and provide technical inputs and clarifications

  • Coordinate with process, piping, layout, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines

  • Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and safety design review workshops

  • Mentor and guide junior technical safety engineers as required

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Chemical / Mechanical / Fire Protection or equivalent)

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in Process Safety / Fire Fighting / Loss Prevention

  • Proven experience with international engineering or EPC companies

  • Mandatory Detailed Design experience on ARAMCO projects

  • Strong hands-on experience with PIPENET and Phast (DNV) software

  • Thorough knowledge of international standards (NFPA, API, IEC, ISO)

  • Experience in offshore and/or onshore oil & gas facilities (Preferred)

  • Prior experience in a Deputy Lead or Senior Technical Safety role (Preferred)

  • Strong coordination and leadership skills (Preferred)
