Job Title Technical Lead - Treasury & Wholesale Banking Application (Omani Nationals Only)
Branch /Dept. Technology – IT Core Applications
Reporting to Head – Treasury & WB Application Support
Job Brief
The Technical Lead with a combination of business and technical skills will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of Treasury and Wholesale Banking applications projects. The role ensures that solutions are designed, developed, and implemented to meet business requirements while maintaining scalability, performance, and security. The position requires close collaboration with business analysts, project managers, vendor, and technical teams to deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
This role demands to facilities the users during all stages of the project w.r.t business, technical and data management perspective.
Be a single point of contact for business and serve as an active link between Business and
Technology team
Liaise with Business in finalizing, prioritizing and delivering the business requirements
Technology enhancement as per the change management process
Ensure Audit / Regulatory compliance
Own all technical executions across design, build, configurations, testing and go-live.
Translate business, regulatory and operational requirements to detailed technical solutions.
Principle Responsibility / Accountability
Lead the design, development, and deployment of Treasury and Wholesale Banking
applications.
Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to development teams.
Ensure adherence to coding standards, architectural guidelines, and best practices.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Conduct code reviews and enforce quality assurance processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation effectively.
Drive continuous improvement in system performance, scalability, and security.
Handling Audit observations & vulnerabilities raised by ISO for the respective application.
Ensure data security and integrity by implementing appropriate access controls and encryption
techniques.
Perform code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and
performance guidelines.
Ensure appropriate APIs are used to connect Treasury & Wholesale Banking applications with
other peripheral applications and services as needed
Ensure necessary security measures are implemented to protect sensitive customer data and
ensure compliance with relevant regulations
Ensure a comprehensive testing strategy, including but not limited to, unit testing, integration
testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) is designed.
Identify and manage technical resources for the project. This includes rolling them onto the
engagement and ensuring they are utilized effectively throughout the project.
Own the design, build, and test of all technology architecture components/solutions. Obtain
stakeholder buy-in for application and technical designs
Review all deliverables and documentation (including user manuals, FAQs and technical guides)
from SI partner’s technology teams jointly with Technology Architect to ensure they meet the
project requirements and quality standards. This involves regular checks and validations of the
work produced by the technical team.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to the project team. This includes mentoring team
members, resolving technical issues, and ensuring that the team is aligned with the project goals
and objectives.
Study the requirements provided by Business, and do perform a detail impact analysis on the
change requests.
Will use the Bank’s methodology for the Software Development Life Cycle including any
Software Engineering tool if necessary approved by Bank.
Liaise with the Project and Technical Manager for timely completion of tasks as per the set rules
of Bank’s Quality Management System.
Achieve well-documented and controlled development so that clarity and transparency is
maintained within the application taken in for enhancement.
The resource will cooperate with other team members; contribute ideas to help the team
become more effective.
Requirements
Skills and Abilities:
Strong expertise in programming languages (e.g., Java, .NET, Python).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices.
Knowledge of Treasury and Wholesale Banking systems, workflows, and financial regulations.
Proficiency in database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
Strong understanding of system architecture, microservices, and API integration.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CFA for treasury context)
preferred.
Software development lifecycle and should follow standard development process such as code
review, creating/executing unknit test cases etc.
Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and RESTful web services.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and resolve technical issues effectively.
Proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions within specified timelines.
Working Knowledge in supporting Treasury & Wholesale Banking applications like Murex.
Knowledge in backend development including data analysis, data modelling, design and
implementation.
Good negotiation skills, proven skills in effectively dealing with the users, vendors and obtaining
consensus
Experience:
Minimum 8+ years’ experience in a reputed bank or IT organization with different
implementation and upgrade projects experience
Experience in business analysis, gathering and documenting business requirements in banking
and financial environment is essential
Experience in Integration framework, web services, and data warehouses etc.
Good level of knowledge in database management systems and SQL/PLSQL
Excellent Treasury & Wholesale Banking business product knowledge
Working knowledge in other banking applications like core banking systems, card and payment
systems, oracle financial analytics applications etc.
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
