Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review mechanical shop drawings, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to integrate mechanical systems into overall project designs.
- Develop material take-offs and bill of quantities for mechanical systems, supporting procurement and cost estimation processes.
- Review and interpret project contracts, technical documents, and client requirements to ensure accurate implementation.
- Provide technical support to site teams during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
- Participate in value engineering exercises to optimize mechanical designs for cost, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Ensure all mechanical documentation is up-to-date, organized, and accessible for project stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing technical submittals, method statements, and compliance reports for client and consultant approval.
- Monitor project progress and report on technical office deliverables, identifying and resolving potential issues.
- Stay updated with the latest industry standards, codes, and best practices relevant to mechanical engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 2-3 years of proven experience in a technical office or similar mechanical engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design and drafting software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with relevant local and international codes and standards.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work on-site as required and adapt to fast-paced project environments.
