Roles & Responsibilities
The Technical Sales Manager – Completions will be responsible for driving Weatherford’s completions business in Iraq by managing the full sales cycle—from opportunity identification through tendering, contract award, and execution support. This role requires deep knowledge of the Iraq oilfield market, strong technical understanding of completions products and services, and well-established industry relationships with key decision-makers. The Technical Sales Manager will provide market intelligence, build trusted partnerships, and position Weatherford as the partner of choice for completions solutions in Iraq.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to grow Weatherford’s completions portfolio in Iraq.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, service companies, and regulatory authorities.
- Identify new business opportunities through market intelligence and proactive client engagement.
- Lead tendering activities: preparation, submission, clarifications, negotiations, and contract finalization.
- Provide technical expertise during customer meetings, presentations, and tender responses to ensure Weatherford’s solutions align with client requirements.
- Collaborate with product line, commercial, and operations teams to deliver winning proposals and technically sound solutions.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends, translating intelligence into actionable strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, HSE standards, and local tendering/legal requirements.
- Drive revenue growth while maintaining profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Represent Weatherford at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements in Iraq.
Desired Candidate Profile
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Iraq’s completions market, including key operators, regulatory framework, and procurement/tendering processes.
- Strong technical expertise in completions products and services (e.g., liner hangers, packers, intelligent completions, intervention tools).
- Proven ability to manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, tendering, negotiation, and closing.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing strategies, contract terms, and risk management.
- Market intelligence and competitor analysis skills to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities in both technical and commercial contexts.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in technical sales within the oilfield services industry, with at least 3 years focused on completions in Iraq.
- Demonstrated track record of winning tenders and growing market share in Iraq’s oilfield sector.
- Deep understanding of tendering processes, commercial practices, and contractual requirements in Iraq.
- Fluency in English required; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Iraq to meet clients and support operations.
