Technical Support Manager

Gap Polymers

Technical Support:

• Provide technical support to internal teams, customers, and distributors regarding the application, performance, and troubleshooting of polymers material supplied.
• Resolve customer technical inquiries related to polymer formulations, properties, and processing techniques
• Conduct technical training for customers and distributors on the correct usage and benefits of polymers material supplied.
• Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to address customer technical needs and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist with the setup and optimization of polymers material supplied at customer production sites

Recipe and Formulation Development:

• Lead the development and improvement of polymer compounds recipes and formulations based on customer requirements and market trends.
• Work on designing and developing innovative polymer compounds formulations that meet specific performance criteria for various industries.
• Tailor formulations to meet various customer needs, including different processing methods (e.g., extrusion, injection molding) and applications (e.g., automotive, packaging, construction).
• Conduct lab-scale trials, testing, and pilot production runs to validate new formulations and ensure they meet the desired performance and quality standards.
• Optimize existing recipes for cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability without compromising performance.

Testing and Quality Control:

• Oversee the testing of new polymer compounds to ensure they meet performance and quality standards.
• Monitor and review customer feedback to identify areas for Compounds or process improvement.
• Maintain comprehensive records of recipe formulations, test results, and any changes made to polymer formulations.

Collaboration and Project Management:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing and customer service, to ensure the successful development and commercialization of new polymer Compounds.
• Manage technical projects related to new Compounds development, formulation improvement, and customer technical support.
• Provide technical leadership on complex issues and ensure that solutions are implemented effectively.
• Prepare technical documentation, including Polymers material supplied & Compounds specifications, safety data sheets (SDS), and application guidelines for internal and external use.

Sustainability and Innovation:

• Stay updated on the latest trends in polymer science, sustainability practices, and regulatory requirements, and apply this knowledge to the development of new Compounds and formulations.
• Incorporate sustainable practices into the development and optimization of polymer recipes, ensuring environmental impact is minimized.

Explore opportunities for improving the performance of polymers compounds through new additives or alternative raw materials.

Knowledge,

• Strong technical knowledge of polymer chemistry, properties, processing, and testing.
• Experience working directly with customers to provide technical support and develop custom solutions.
• Experience with laboratory equipment and testing methods used for polymer analysis and formulation testing.
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., ISO, ASTM, REACH).
