Roles & Responsibilities
Job Overview:
The Technician (Steel) will be responsible for carrying out fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of steel structures and components. The role involves working from technical drawings, using various fabrication tools and equipment, and ensuring all work is performed to the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and safety.
Job Role & Responsibilities:
• Perform fabrication, cutting, fitting, and welding of steel structures and components.
• Interpret and work from fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and machinery for shaping and assembling steel parts.
• Ensure accuracy in dimensions and alignment during fabrication and installation.
• Assist in assembling structural frames, supports, tanks, and other steel works.
• Conduct inspections and repairs of existing steel structures as needed.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness, equipment condition, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other team members to meet project deadlines.
• Follow all company safety procedures and use proper PPE during operations.
• Participate in toolbox meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
• Education: Technical Diploma or Trade Certificate in Fabrication / Steel Work / Mechanical field.
• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in steel fabrication, fitting, or structural steel works.
• Experience in shipyard, construction, or industrial projects preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication layouts.
• Knowledge of welding processes, steel grades, and fabrication tools.
• Familiarity with safety and quality control standards related to steel works.
Required Skills:
• Strong technical skills in steel fabrication and assembly.
• Proficiency in using cutting, grinding, and measuring tools.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good understanding of fabrication tolerances and quality standards.
• Strong problem-solving and time management abilities.
• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
