Job Description

A Teller is a frontline banking professional who plays a crucial role in maintaining customer relationships and driving the efficiency of bank operations. Positioned at the bank's counter, Tellers are tasked with the accurate and efficient handling of financial transactions, which include deposits, withdrawals, and money transfers. They serve as the face of the bank by representing its values and ensuring a positive customer experience. Tellers are essential in helping to manage the flow of daily transactions and resolving customer inquiries and issues with professionalism and diplomacy. Responsibilities
  • Process customer transactions efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, and check cashing.
  • Maintain and balance the cash drawer, ensuring all transactions are accounted for accurately.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing and resolving customer inquiries.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services.
  • Follow bank security procedures and report any suspicious activity to management.
  • Assist in opening and closing the bank, ensuring everything is secured properly.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of bank products, services, and policies.
  • Promote bank products through cross-selling techniques to increase bank business.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and institution policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and process required daily reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Train new tellers by sharing knowledge and demonstrating skills and procedures.
  • Manage customer data with confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification is required.
  • Strong mathematical skills to handle and process transactions accurately.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Previous experience in banking or cash handling will be advantageous.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with banking software and basic computing skills are necessary.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential.
