Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary
The Tendering Engineer will support the Tendering Manager in the preparation, coordination, and
submission of technical and commercial proposals. The role is suited for a junior to mid-level
professional who can manage multiple tenders, coordinate with internal departments, and help
improve bid quality and submission efficiency.
Main Responsibilities
Tender Review & Analysis
• Review RFQs, RFPs, ITBs, and tender documents to understand client requirements, scope,
and submission deadlines.
• Identify key technical, commercial, and contractual requirements and highlight risks to the
Tendering Manager.
• Ensure tender requirements are aligned with company capabilities and resources.
• Prepare tender summary sheets and bid/no-bid recommendations for management review.
Proposal Preparation & Submission
• Assist in preparing technical and commercial proposals in line with client requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, procurement, and finance teams for inputs related
to methodology, pricing, schedules, and resources.
• Compile complete bid packages including qualifications, schedules, compliance sheets,
and supporting documents.
• Ensure all submissions are accurate, compliant, and delivered within deadlines.
• Maintain proper version control and document formatting standards.
Costing & Commercial Support
• Support cost estimation, pricing build-ups, and commercial comparisons.
• Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors when required.
• Assist in preparing clarifications, exclusions, assumptions, and commercial terms.
• Help maintain competitiveness while protecting company margins.
Tender Tracking & Administration
• Maintain an updated log of tenders, quotations, submitted bids, and results.
• Track tender milestones, clarification deadlines, bid openings, and award status.
• Organize tender files and maintain records for future reference.
• Prepare periodic tender status reports for the Tendering Manager.
Client Coordination & Follow-Up
• Coordinate with clients regarding clarifications, submission acknowledgements, and postbid communications.
• Follow up on submitted proposals under the guidance of the Tendering Manager.
• Support relationship-building with clients, consultants, and contractors.
Continuous Improvement
• Assist in analyzing win/loss results and lessons learned from past tenders.
• Suggest improvements to templates, workflows, and response quality.
• Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and industry requirements.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in tendering, estimation, proposals, or contracts.
• Experience in construction, geotechnical, engineering services, or related industries is
preferred.
• Good understanding of tendering procedures and commercial documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of ERP and CRM
systems is an advantage.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
