Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the testing and commissioning of fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with international standards and project specifications.
- Perform detailed inspections of installed firefighting equipment, including pumps, sprinklers, fire hydrants, and detection systems, to verify proper functionality.
- Conduct functional testing of fire alarm systems, verifying the response of devices and integration with other building systems.
- Develop and implement commissioning procedures, test plans, and checklists tailored to specific project requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during testing and commissioning, providing effective solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive commissioning reports, documenting all test results, observations, and deviations from specifications.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and clients, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide training to end-users on the operation and maintenance of fire protection systems.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry codes, standards, and technologies related to firefighting systems.
- Ensure all work is performed safely, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Has a minimum of 5 years of experience in testing and commissioning of fire protection systems, preferably in commercial or industrial projects.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of fire protection system design, including sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and fire alarm systems.
- Exhibits a solid understanding of relevant codes and standards, such as NFPA, FM Global, and local fire codes.
- Proficient in the use of testing equipment and software, such as fire alarm panel programming and testing tools.
- Possesses excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues effectively.
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders.
- Shows a strong commitment to safety and a proven ability to adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
- Is fluent in English (both written and spoken); additional language skills are a plus.
