The Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research was established on March 14, 1994, during the era of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him. This is in accordance with the decree of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan - may God have mercy on him - when he was serving as Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. The establishment of the center came within the framework of the keenness of the wise leadership of the United Arab Emirates to consolidate the foundations of a modern state, with institutions that keep pace with scientific and research developments in the world. In accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State - may God protect him - the center has become an independent institution specialized in scientific research and political, economic, social, cultural and other studies of importance.
