Roles & Responsibilities


About the Role: The Traction Power Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end design, integration, and commissioning of traction power supply systems. This role ensures reliable power delivery to all rolling stock and supports overall system safety, availability, and performance throughout execution and DLP phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design reviews, system sizing, and configuration of traction substations and distribution networks
  • Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of traction power infrastructure
  • Ensure compliance with RTA and international standards (IEC, IEEE)
  • Conduct interface coordination with SCADA, OCS, and rolling stock teams
  • Support power system analysis, failure mode assessments, and mitigation planning

Requirements:

  • MSc/BSc in Electrical or Power Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years experience in traction power systems for metro/rail projects
  • Strong experience in power systems design, high voltage installations, and interface management
  • Prior experience on GCC projects is essential; RTA project background is preferred
  • Proficiency with tools such as ETAP, PSCAD, or similar is an advantage
