Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Support econometric modeling and forecasting, including data gathering, cleaning, and validation.

Undertake desk-based research on topics such as policy and regulatory developments, political and security dynamics, and stakeholder mapping around new projects and investments.

Identify and qualify external data needs and integrate these into our data and models, including trade model experience like gravity analysis.

Lead analysis and reporting of insights, providing technical support tailored to clients' needs and expectations.

Collaborate with senior colleagues to design technical approaches to client problems and communicate these clearly.

Present project findings, capabilities, methodologies to senior personnel, including government ministers and C-suite.

Provide project management support, ensuring deliverables are correctly sequenced and executed.

Desired Candidate Profile

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Master's-level education in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, or related fields.
  • Understanding of major concepts in macroeconomics, microeconomics, international trade and investment, commerce, and geopolitics.
  • Minimum of four years' experience working on economic modeling and/or large datasets for delivering insights to clients.
  • Competency with full Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with programs for statistical analysis - E-views (ideally), with knowledge of R, Stata. Python is also useful.
  • Efficient use of internal AI agents for research.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse project stakeholders, both external and internal.
  • Intellectual curiosity, openness to collaboration, and a resilient attitude.
  • Self-organized and comfortable prioritizing work to meet competing deadlines.
  • Fluent Arabic preferred, not essential.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in international trade and investment strategies.
  • Familiarity with geopolitical analysis and operational risk assessment.
  • Strong coding and data skills to drive efficiency in business processes.
  • Experience in project management and client-relationship management.
  • Open to working across time zones and nourishing client relationships globally.
