Trade Finance Subject Matter Expert

Provide deep domain expertise in Trade Finance, operations, products, and industry best practices. Drive process optimization, product enhancement, and risk mitigation initiatives to improve efficiency, compliance, and client experience.

• Serve as the internal expert on Trade Finance products including Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, Documentary Collections, Supply Chain Finance, and Open Account solutions.
• Review and optimize existing trade finance processes to improve turnaround time, reduce operational risk, and enhance client service.
• Recommend product enhancements aligned with market trends and client needs.
• Ensure trade operations comply with international rules and regulatory requirements.
• Identify automation opportunities within trade workflows to reduce manual intervention and operational errors.
• Support digitization initiatives, including trade platforms and document management systems.
• Advise on structuring complex trade transactions and mitigating trade-related risks.
• Conduct gap analysis against industry best practices and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams to strengthen controls and governance.
• Provide training and knowledge-sharing sessions to Relationship Managers and Operations teams.

Strong hands-on experience in Trade Finance business/ sales, operations, and product structuring.

Deep knowledge of international trade rules and practices .

Experience in process improvement, transformation, or operational excellence initiatives.

Strong understanding of trade-related risk (documentary risk, country risk, counterparty risk, compliance risk).

Familiarity with trade digitization platforms and workflow automation tools..

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to translate technical trade requirements into practical business solutions.
