Roles & Responsibilities

Career objective:


Leading and guiding the corporate transformation agenda for Asyad Logistics Services across its key units, with primary responsibility for integrating Oman Post with Asyad Express, transforming Oman Post's retail network, and establishing a robust Project Management Office (PMO) with an effective governance framework across strategic initiatives. This role includes designing and implementing major transformation programs aimed at improving the effectiveness of the operating model, enhancing business performance, increasing cost efficiency, improving customer experience, and supporting long-term strategic positioning. This encompasses leading integration processes, achieving synergies, executing strategic projects, transforming the retail network, aligning the technology roadmap, and reviewing land investments.


The role includes responsibility across various units and functions to ensure that transformation priorities are planned, linkages resulting from acquisitions are managed, and future strategic projects are executed in line with the strategic direction of Asyad Logistics Services and the standards of the Asyad Group.

Main responsibilities and tasks:


strategic:


Developing and leading the corporate transformation roadmap across the various business units of Asyad Logistics, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, growth priorities and long-term value creation objectives.

Leading the merger program between Oman Post and Asyad Express, by defining the vision, roadmap, governance, work paths, key milestones, risks, and targeted outcomes for the merged business.

 The process of integrating all postal activities related to e-commerce and logistics within Asyad Express was driven, with a guarantee of clarity regarding scope, responsibilities, and accountability for implementation.

 Identifying, assessing, and realizing integration opportunities across resources, technologies, infrastructure, physical assets, and support functions, with the goal of improving efficiency, scalability, and profitability.

 Leading the strategic transformation of Oman Post’s retail network, including restructuring the size of the branch network and developing new retail products and services that boost uptake, improve usage rates, enhance service suitability for customers, and improve business performance.

 Developing and evaluating strategic options for branch operating models, including outsourcing and franchise models, with the aim of improving flexibility, reducing fixed costs, and decreasing reliance on government support.

 Leading the strategic design and implementation roadmap for launching the first national Pick-up and Delivery Point (PUDO) network in Oman, ensuring coverage across the Sultanate, commercial viability, customer convenience, and integration with the wider logistics system.

 Overseeing the Postal Authority's land investment review program, including assessing strategic value, redevelopment possibilities, sale options, sublease opportunities, and pathways to generating returns from sites in high-demand areas.

  Leading comprehensive transformation programs from the strategy stage to implementation, while ensuring that results are achieved according to the specified timelines, milestones, budgets and targeted outcomes.

 Coordination and governance of cross-functional workflows that include operations, commercial, retail, technical, financial, human resources, procurement, legal, and other support functions.

Monitoring the progress of strategic initiatives, proactively identifying risks, challenges and interrelationships, and working to address them in a timely manner through stakeholder engagement and effective governance.

Working alongside the Integration Management Office and stakeholders to ensure that post-acquisition linkages and future projects are identified early, properly structured, and implemented in accordance with the approved governance framework.

Leading the design and implementation of new business frameworks, processes, and procedures necessary to support the post-merger business model.

 Supporting the development of a technology strategy and business system that meets the current and future needs of integrated businesses in the areas of mail, express services, retail, and e-commerce.

 Ensuring that transformation programs are supported by strong feasibility studies, clear success indicators, disciplined implementation plans, and post-implementation reviews.

Providing periodic reports to the executive management on the status of programs, required decisions, key risks, financial implications, and level of value achievement.


Minimum qualification:


 Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.

 Preferred: Master's degree or MBA with experience in supply chain or operations.

Professional certifications in logistics/supply chain services such as CSCP, FIATA, CILT are an added advantage.

Minimum experience:


At least 10 years of experience in logistics and supply chain, including at least 5 years in an executive leadership position.

Experience in Express & Postal Operations.

Experience in developing and implementing large-scale transformation strategies and projects in the Express Parcel and Mail Services (CEP) sector.

Strong understanding of the postal and express parcel services markets in the GCC and international markets, compliance, and trade regulations.


Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualification:

  • Minimum: Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
  • Preferred: Master s degree or MBA with focus on Supply Chain/Operations.
  • professional certifications in logistics/supply chain (e.g., CSCP, FIATA, CILT) are an advantage.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years in logistics and supply chain, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record in Express & Postal operations
  • Experience in developing and executing large-scale CEP related strategies and transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of GCC and international CEP markets, compliance, and trade regulations.
