Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Transport Supervisor to oversee our Land Freight operations. Operating in an asset-light model, this role is entirely focused on sourcing, negotiating, and coordinating with third-party transport sub-contractors and leasing partners to ensure seamless delivery across the UAE and the wider GCC region.
Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Management: Source, vet, and onboard reliable sub-contractors and transport vendors for local UAE distribution and cross-border GCC trucking (FTL, LTL, and specialized equipment).
Rate Negotiation: Negotiate spot rates and long-term contracts with vendors to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining healthy profit margins.
Operational Execution: Plan and dispatch sub-contracted trucks, monitor daily movements, and ensure on-time pick-up and delivery.
GCC Compliance: Ensure all cross-border shipments comply with UAE and GCC customs regulations. Coordinate with clearing agents at border points to prevent delays.
Performance Tracking: Monitor vendor KPIs (on-time delivery, truck condition, driver professionalism) and address any service failures immediately.
Financial Administration: Verify transport vendor invoices against agreed rates and resolve any discrepancies to facilitate timely payments.
Desired Candidate Profile
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Land Freight operations within the UAE and GCC, specifically working for a freight forwarder or transport broker (non-asset-based experience is highly preferred).
Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of current market rates for local and GCC routes, vehicle types (curtain siders, flatbeds, reefers), and transit times.
Network: An established database of trusted UAE transport sub-contractors.
Skills: Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to handle high-pressure situations and last-minute route changes.
Language: Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Arabic, Hindi, or Urdu is a significant advantage for communicating directly with drivers and border officials.
