Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) throughout all project phases.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and contractors to ensure TBM activities align with project timelines and specifications.
- Monitor TBM performance metrics and implement adjustments to optimize efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols and risk mitigation strategies specific to TBM operations.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including daily progress reports, incident logs, and maintenance records.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and mentor a team of TBM operators and technicians, providing training and guidance as needed.
- Collaborate with geotechnical and structural engineers to address ground conditions and adapt TBM operations accordingly.
- Manage procurement and inventory of TBM spare parts and consumables.
- Liaise with equipment manufacturers and service providers for technical support and upgrades.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in TBM operations, tunnel construction, or related engineering fields.
- Proven expertise in operating and maintaining various types of Tunnel Boring Machines.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and underground construction methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams and coordinate with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in tunnel construction.
- Proficiency in preparing technical reports and documentation.
- Experience with procurement and inventory management for TBM operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work on-site and adapt to project-specific schedules.
