Union National Bank (UNB) was established as a Public Joint Stock Company in the year 1982, with its headquarters in Abu Dhabi. It is the only bank that is jointly owned by the Governments of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Over the years, it has grown to become one of the leading domestic banks in the United Arab Emirates. The bank offers a variety of products and services ranging from basic needs of individuals to the more complex requirements of corporate entities. UNB also has two subsidiaries:

• Union Brokerage Company (UNC) – one of the oldest and leading brokerage firms in the UAE. The company has its head office in Abu Dhabi.
• Al Wifaq Finance Company – offers Sharia compliant financial and investment services to individuals and organizations.

The bank aims to become a key player in the region and has also established its presence in the Egyptian banking sector through its successful acquisition of the Alexandria Commercial and Maritime Bank.
