Roles & Responsibilities

Grow transactional volume, revenues and wallet share while providing effective customer support and relationship management relating to Trade Finance products and services.

Deliver sales strategy and secure strategic internal support from stakeholders, in conjunction with the Head of FI Trade & Cash Management Solutions in order to identify and satisfy customer needs and to achieve revenue and portfolio growth targets.

Assess the Trade Finance products that are required to meet the requirements of customers (both existing and NTBs) and work closely with the Account Relationship Managers to deliver optimal solutions for customers.

Launch innovate Trade Finance products and services to take care of both current and future needs of the customers, considering the risks and mitigations for each product and variant.

Regularly monitor utilization of trade finance limits and ensure optimum utilization for the assigned portfolio. Manage and retain key customer relationships and focus on building strategic relationships with key decision-makers.

Conduct annual strategic account planning exercise jointly with Account Relationship Managers. Lead, execute and implement opportunities arising out of the strategic account plans.

To be a solution provider and work closely with other stakeholders including GTS, Corporate Banking, Project Finance, GFI, Treasury, Transaction Banking, RMD, Compliance, etc. for effective coordination and communication thus assuring smooth business activities for customers and help in improving TAT.

Regularly interact & update the Head of FI Trade & Cash Management solutions on business developments, business requirements and strategy.

Actively work with GFI Coverage Team to utilize Bank s global branch network to support customer s requirements.

Mentor, guide and support the team to gain insights and knowledge on Trade Finance products.

Create and sustain a team culture that encourages others to provide the quality of service essential to high performance.

Responsible to enhance customer awareness and experience with the Bank by conducting regular visits / calls to customers by providing advisory solutions and eventually strengthen relationship.

Conduct joint calls with Account Relationship managers to ensure joint sales goals are met, new revenue opportunities are identified, and needs of the customer is assessed and met.

Conduct Trade Finance seminars / training to customers & internal stakeholders to enhance product awareness.

Organize sales programs to both staff and customers for growth and product penetration of the portfolio, identify new business opportunities and cross sell other key banking products.

Review customer journey and improve service levels by regularly interacting with the customers and internal stakeholders for smooth transaction flows, improved TAT and enhanced customer experience.

Periodical review of trade finance documentations, policies & procedures and initiate necessary changes to be in line with the regulatory requirements, governing trade rules and best practices in the industry.

Review legal documentation of all trade related products & initiatives and liaise with internal and external stakeholders for smooth implementation.

Responsible for the implementation and adoption of all international governing trade rules & regulations, OFAC & all sanction regulations, regulatory norms of Central Bank of Oman and the Bank s internal regulations & guidelines.

Conduct regular portfolio reviews to identify areas of improvement and develop tactical plans towards effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk and compliance matters.

Drive the digitization agenda and maximize customer onboarding & transacting.

Utilize market research and competitor benchmarking exercises to help shape Trade Finance sales, marketing, product, pricing and service strategies.

Provide regular data driven analytics & insights to Head FI Trade & Cash Management Solutions & Senior Management to drive strategic decision making.

Identify & drive other business opportunities with the customer such as FX, Cash Management, Retail Banking, etc. and refer the same to respective business units.

Desired Candidate Profile

Post-graduate degree in finance, economics, or related field (MBA preferred)

12 to 15 years of banking experience with at least 8 to 10 years in Trade Finance business.

CDCS / CITF or other relevant certifications in trade finance is preferred.

Deep understanding of Trade products, regulations and documentation and working capital financing, in a Product Management and/or Sales role. Knowledge of Trade Finance products available globally, their features, and applications.

Sound knowledge in trade finance back-office operations & related process.

Previous management experience handling a small team in a sales or operational role preferred

Proficient in trade finance software and financial systems.

Experience in driving trade portal digital penetration is a must.

Understanding of Cash Management, FX & Working Capital products will be advantageous

Good understanding and application of analytical skills e.g. advanced excel, etc.

Excellent written & oral communication skills.
