Roles & Responsibilities
Main role (overall accountability)
As the Unit Head of the Jadara Technology Academy, you play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction and operational excellence of our technology learning and development initiatives. You will collaborate with key stakeholders, including Technology, IT Audit, IT Security Risk Management, and Human Resources departments, to align the academy s strategy with organizational goals and the evolving needs of bank muscat.
Principal accountabilities
1. Skills Gap Analysis: Conduct comprehensive skills gap analyses to evaluate the current capabilities of employees within the Technology group. Identify areas of development necessary to align with the organization s strategic goals, business restructuring, and future plans. Use insights from these analyses to inform the design and implementation of targeted learning interventions and career development pathways.
2. Strategy Development & Implementation: Develop and implement the Technology Academy's strategies in alignment with the organization's broader business plans. Formulate action plans that translate strategic objectives into operational activities, ensuring that the academy contributes effectively to the organization s overall success.
3. Technology Function Expertise: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the various technology functions within the organization. Identify and address their specific learning needs and requirements, tailoring training programs to ensure that each function is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet current and future challenges.
4. Policy & Process Leadership: Set and drive the policies and processes of the Technology Academy in alignment with the overall policies of the Jadara Academy. Ensure that these policies support the strategic goals of the organization and foster an environment conducive to learning and development.
5. Customized L&D Strategies: Develop customized learning and development strategies, plans, and curricula to enhance overall workforce capabilities for current and future roles within the technology group. Promote a culture of lifelong learning through continuous development opportunities.
6. Strategic Integration: Integrate the organization s strategic plans, including its vision, corporate values, and strategic pillars, into all programs. Ensure that learning initiatives are aligned with and support the long-term objectives of the organization.
7. Innovative Learning Channels: Recommend and implement innovative and creative learning and development channels and technologies to engage learners and enhance the effectiveness of learning interventions. Stay abreast of the latest trends in learning technology and apply them effectively.
8. Supervisory Skill Development: Equip supervisors and line managers with the skills and tools needed to mentor, train, and coach their direct reports on the job. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development across all levels of the organization.
9. Program Implementation: Ensure the effective and timely implementation of all learning activities within the Technology Academy. Oversee the execution of programs, ensuring that they meet quality standards and deliver the desired outcomes.
10. Budget & Vendor Management: Track budgets, negotiate contracts, and build and maintain relationships with external L&D providers. Ensure that resources are used efficiently and that partnerships add value to the Technology Academy s programs.
11. Learning Effectiveness Analysis: Analyze learning effectiveness evaluation data to derive insights on the impact and return on investment of learning and development programs. Recommend improvement actions to enhance workforce capabilities and program outcomes.
12. Focal Point for Enquiries: Act as the primary point of contact for all enquiries related to the Technology Academy. Ensure that stakeholders receive timely and accurate information regarding the academy s activities and programs.
13. Continuous Learning: Stay informed about the latest developments in learning trends, particularly changes in learning and development technologies. Incorporate relevant advancements into the academy s strategies and offerings.
14. Communication Strategy: Develop the academy s communication strategy in collaboration with the Corporate Communications department. Position the organization as an employer of choice, attracting top talent and enhancing employee engagement.
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Background:
Bachelor Degree or higher in Human Resource Management, IT, AI, Machine Learning, or MSc in relevant specializations.
CIPD Diploma in Learning and Development is preferred.
Experience:
15+ years of experience, preferably with recent years in learning and development roles within a technology company.
Proven track record in delivering complex and high-profile L&D programs, including managing and mobilizing resources to meet time, quality, and budget expectations.
Skills & Competencies:
Excellent organizational and planning skills, including program, resource, vendor, and performance management.
Strong people management skills, with a focus on developing and motivating direct reports, colleagues, and consultants.
Proactive problem-solving abilities with a strong initiative.
Analytical and critical thinking skills, with a proven ability to derive insights and drive decisions based on data.
Proficiency in writing for and speaking to a diverse range of audiences, ensuring impact across different channels and media.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications and the technology stack deployed in financial services organizations.
Sound understanding of KPIs and metrics used to measure the return on investment of L&D programs.
Knowledge of instructional design theories and adult learning principles used for designing and developing effective and engaging training programs.
Proficiency in learning technologies and tools used to design, develop and deliver blended learning programs.
