Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess furniture condition, identifying repair needs and recommending appropriate solutions, ensuring optimal restoration.
- Precisely measure, cut, and sew fabric, leather, or other materials to fit furniture frames, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
- Apply padding, springs, and webbing to frames, ensuring structural integrity and comfort, showcasing expertise in furniture construction.
- Employ a variety of hand tools and machinery, including sewing machines and staple guns, to expertly complete upholstery projects.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent, providing a foundational understanding of craftsmanship.
- Completion of a vocational upholstery program or apprenticeship, demonstrating a commitment to the trade.
- Certification in upholstery or related fields, showcasing specialized skills and knowledge.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the upholstery industry, showcasing practical expertise and problem-solving abilities.
