Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Academic Rigor: Deliver the Cambridge Primary Curriculum (English, Math, Science) with a focus on preparing students for Primary Checkpoint exams.

  • Subject Integration: Design and implement cross-curricular units that link core subjects with STEM and ICT to foster critical thinking.

  • Data-Driven Instruction: Micro-analyze student assessment data (formative and summative) to identify learning gaps and provide targeted differentiation for high-achievers and SEN/EAL students.

  • Classroom Management: Maintain a high-standard, disciplined, and stimulating learning environment suitable for pre-teens, emphasizing independence and student agency.

  • Pastoral Care: Act as a dedicated Homeroom Teacher, managing the social, emotional, and behavioral development of students during the transition to Middle School.

  • Professional Collaboration: Lead and participate in weekly Standardized Planning sessions and moderation meetings to ensure consistency across the year group.

  • Parent Communication: Provide high-level, professional academic reporting and conduct regular parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress and targets.

  • Extracurricular Contribution: Lead at least one after-school activity (ECA) or school club to support the holistic development of the students.

Desired Candidate Profile

Upper Primary Teacher – Male/Female | 1 Expat Position

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) minimum, Primary specialization

  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience in upper primary

  • Strong knowledge across core subjects: Maths, English, Science

  • Ability to engage older primary students and maintain high academic standards

  • Positive nature & supportive member of staff

  • Willing to positively work towards our goal of being one of the leading schools in Oman

Preferred Criteria:

  • Strong assessment and data tracking skills

  • Experience with British or international curriculum

  • Experience with EAL (English as an Additional Language) students

  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities

  • Living in Sur, Oman or willing to relocate – appreciation for outdoor, community-based lifestyle
