Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Below are the open positions: -
A) Vehicle Inspector
Compliance & Standards
1) Ensure compliance with OPAL Roadworthiness Assurance Standard (RAS)
2) Verify alignment with PDO Road Safety Standards
3) Ensure vehicles and equipment meet approved OPAL specifications and legal requirements
Vehicle & Equipment Inspection
1) Conduct Pre-RAS Inspection, RAS Inspection, periodic inspection, and special roadworthiness inspections (Asset Pre-Mobilisation Critical Checklist-For Rig Move).
2) Brakes, steering, suspension
3) Tyre & wheels
4) Lightning mirrors, horn, wipers
5) Chassis, body condition, load restraint
6) Speed limiter, IVMS, seat belts, rollover protection
7) Ensure inspection is carried out using approved OPAL checklists
Roadworthiness Certification
1) Approve or reject vehicles based on inspection results
2) Issue roadworthiness clearance only after all defects are rectified
3) Verify calibration and certification of inspection tools
4) Ensure inspection stickers, tags, and documents are correctly isplayed
Defect Management
1) Identify critical, major, and minor defects as per OPAL RAS
2) Ensure vehicles with critical defects are immediately grounded
3) Monitor corrective actions and verify proper defect closure
4) Prevent unauthorized vehicle release without compliance approval
Documentation & Reporting
1) Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and defect logs
2) Update OPAL / client inspection systems and databases
3) Prepare inspection summary reports for management and clients
4) Maintain traceability for audits and investigations
Audit & Inspection Support
1) Support OPAL, PDO, client, and ministry audits
2) Participate in accident, incident, and near-miss investigations
3) Provide technical input on vehicle-related safety issues
4) Track and close audit findings within agreed timelines
HSE & Control Measures
1) Ensure safe inspection practices and correct PPE usage
2) Identify unsafe conditions and stop work if required
Training & Awareness
1) Guide drivers, supervisors, and mechanics on OPAL RAS requirements
B) Workshop Supervisor
Job responsibilities
HSE & Compliance
1) Ensure full compliance with PDO HSE standards
2) Implement and enforce Permit to Work (PTW)
3) Ensure Risk Assessments (RA), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Method Statements are prepared, approved, and followed
4) Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings
5) Always ensure the use of correct PPE and safe work practices
6) Report, investigate, and close out incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions
7) Support PDO, OPAL, client, and ministry audits and inspections
Workshop Operations
1) Plan, supervise, and control daily maintenance and repair activities for vehicles, plant, and equipment
2) Troubleshooting guide for vehicles and equipment
3) Allocate work to technicians based on competency and authorization
4) Ensure all jobs are completed as per OEM recommendations and company procedures
5) Verify job cards, work permits, and inspection checklists before job closure
6) Control workshop access and maintain strict housekeeping standards
Asset Integrity & Maintenance
1) Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance programs are implemented effectively
2) Monitor critical equipment condition and take proactive action to prevent failures
3) Ensure proper calibration and certification of tools, lifting equipment, and measuring instruments
4) Ensure vehicle and equipment roadworthiness as per PDO and OPAL Road Safety standards
Documentation & Reporting
1) Maintain accurate maintenance records, PTWs, and inspection reports
2) Ensure compliance documentation is readily available for audits
3) Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and HSE reports
4) Track and close action items arising from audits, incidents, and inspections
People Management & Competency
1) Ensure technicians are trained, competent, and certified for assigned tasks
2) Conduct competency assessments and identify training requirements
3) Monitor attendance, overtime, productivity, and work discipline
4) Coach and mentor technicians on safe and efficient work practices
Spare Parts & Cost Control
1) Coordinate with stores and procurement for availability of critical spares
2) Control usage of spare parts and consumables to minimize wastage
3) Support cost control initiatives and maintenance budgeting
Emergency & Environmental Control
1) Ensure emergency response procedures are understood and practiced
2) Control waste disposal, spill prevention, and environmental protection measures
3) Ensure fire-fighting equipment, spill kits, and first-aid facilities are available and inspected
Desired Candidate Profile
1) CANDIDATES SHOULD HAVE EXP IN OIL & GAS / PETROCHEMICAL / REFINERY.
2) GCC EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED.
