Role Overview
Role Summary Responsible for providing high-quality care to animals under the supervision of
Head of Veterinary Hospital. This role encompasses a wide range of
responsibilities, including performing surgeries, treatments, necropsies, chemical
immobilizations, preventive medicine programs, conducting diagnostic tests and
procedures, and providing compassionate care to both animals and their owners
and other vet tasks assigned by supervisor.
Main Duties • Make good collaboration and interaction with other safari staff such as
zookeeper, curator and all other colleges in Dubai safari park. Always be aware
and care about internal information by attending weekly and monthly meeting of
Life and Science Division.
• Diagnose and administer emergency treatment to an injured or ill animal.
• Conduct postmortem study and analysis.
• Daily health check of the animals during rounds, with keen observation of the
health and welfare of the animals in safari.
• Performing physical exam on animal, taking blood or other sample for diagnostic
confirmation, taking ultrasound, radiograph, endoscopy and laparoscopy, and any
other diagnostics to perform the best treatment for all animal collection in Dubai
Safari Park
• Prescribing medication, performing surgery, preparing health certificates,
reviewing and determining animal diet and schedule.
• Supporting conservation for In-situ and ex-situ captive breeding program in
Dubai Safari Park
• Supervise and perform the sedations and anesthesia, all surgery activities in
Dubai Safari Park
Role Specification
Qualifications • Bachelor in veterinary medicine
Experience • 5 years’ experience in a zoological institution and working with exotic
animals.
Skills • Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and medical
terminology.
• Proficiency in handling and restraining animals safely and
compassionately.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and emotionally demanding
environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with exotic animals or specialized veterinary care.
• Knowledge of advanced diagnostic equipment and techniques.
• Proficiency in veterinary practice management software.
• Continuing education and professional development in veterinary
Medicine.
Remuneration Commensurate with experience
