Duties and responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Servers, Virtual machines, and storage.
• Maintenance and troubleshoot ESXi hosts, including hardware components such as CPU, memory, storage, and networking related to the VMware environment.
• Monitor systems and Servers performance, resource utilization, and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance and scalability of the virtual infrastructure.
• Implement high availability solutions using HA clusters and failover mechanisms to ensure business continuity.
• Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies for virtual machines using Site Recovery Manager.
• Implement and manage VMware Horizon.
• Ensure the security of the VMware environment by applying security patches on a regular basis, managing user access, and other security measures.
• Develop and implement automation tasks using VMware Orchestration to streamline and enhance VMware administration tasks.
• Manage virtual machine deployment, configuration, and migration across multiple Datacentres.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues related to VMware products.

Job specification

Education

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or any related field from a recognized university.

Experience.

• 5 years' experience working in IT.
• Proficient in VMware vSphere, including ESXi, vCenter Server, vSAN and VMware Operations Management.
• Experience with VMware Site Recovery Manager.
• Experience with VMware Horizon.
• Experience with VMware Orchestration.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and technologies, including VLANs, switches, and firewalls.
• Knowledge of storage systems and SAN/NAS configurations.
• Experience with backup and recovery solutions for virtual environments.
• Proficiency in scripting languages, such as PowerShell and Power CLI.
• Extensive experience with Windows and Linux OS.
