Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Provides authentic, high-quality service by managing table sections, guiding guests through Japanese cuisine (sushi, sake, Kaiseki), and maintaining meticulous hygiene standards. Key duties include delivering proactive service, using specific Japanese dining etiquette, and managing reservations.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Etiquette: Delivering refined, omotenashi style service, including welcoming guests, taking orders, and managing guest satisfaction.
Menu Knowledge: Providing detailed explanations of Japanese dishes, ingredients, and sake/wine pairings.
Operational Tasks: Managing service sections, cleaning and polishing equipment/tableware, and ensuring mise-en-place is prepared.
Communication: Fluent in English (oral and written) and preferably Japanese to handle guest inquiries effectively.
Safety & Hygiene: Adhering strictly to HACCP and public health policies.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar Japanese restaurant or luxury hotel setting. Knowledge of Japanese culture, customs, and cuisine. High level of stress management, professional appearance, and a friendly, helpful attitude.
Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
