Roles & Responsibilities
Based at the Emirates palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi within the Food & Beverage Department, the Waiter/ Waitress is responsible for ensuring that guests are served food and beverage according to the standards of Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi. The Waitress reports to the Assistant Restaurant Manager.
As Waiter/ Waitress, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Set up stations and tables according to set standards.
- Greet the guest according to the standards set by Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi.
- Communicate with the guest according to the standards set by Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi.
- Assist the captain in presenting the menu, making recommendations, and taking orders.
- Serving food and beverage items and ensuring prompt service.
- Follow up on billing and checking procedures.
- Ensure that the buffet is kept clean and free of debris.
- Coordinate and assist in the clearing of tables.
- Coordinate and assist in the clearing of station.
- Coordinate and supervise the return of dirty linen.
- Assist the kitchen in clearing the buffet.
- To be present in the restaurant during service hours.
- Ensure that the captain is kept informed of all guest comments and complaints.
- Attend communication meetings, briefings, and training sessions as required by the restaurant manager, training manager, and food and beverage manager.
- To keep uniform neat and clean and ensure good personal grooming and hygiene in accordance with the standards of Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi.
- Any other duties, which may be assigned to you from time to time as directed by your supervisor or Manager.
Desired Candidate Profile
Previous experience in the same role in a luxury hotel is required; resort experience is a plus.
- Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field.
- Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) is preferred.
- Demonstrates strong physical stamina and the ability to remain standing for prolonged periods as required by the role.
