Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal welding teams, clients, and subcontractors to plan and execute welding inspections as per ITP and project requirements.

  • Prepare, review, and approve WPS and PQR in line with project specifications, client requirements, and applicable codes.

  • Preparation of Weld Repair Procedure, Clad Removal Procedure, Weld Repair plan, Weld map & NDE Map

  • Ensure compliance with project welding specifications and relevant codes such as ASME, API, AWS & ISO code & standard. ADNOC specification for Piping, Structure, Pressure vessel

  • Verify welder qualifications, maintain performance records, and ensure adherence to approved WPS.

  • Provide technical guidance on welding processes including SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, SAW, and weld overlay process

  • Address client concerns related to welding procedures, inspection results, and repair rates with timely technical clarifications.

  • Participate in kick-off, pre-inspection, and weekly progress meetings to discuss welding quality and inspection status.

  • Manage welding-related NCRs, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Ensure subcontractors meet all welding quality requirements including WPS approval, welder qualification, and consumable control.

  • Monitor consumable control procedures such as storage, issuance, and baking records as per standards.

  • Maintain welding traceability records (heat numbers, consumable batch numbers, etc.) in compliance with QA/QC requirements.

  • Prepare and compile final welding dossiers including WPS, PQR, WPQ, weld maps, NDE records, and repair history.

  • Develop welding inspection look-ahead schedules and manage RFIs/NOIs for inspection activities.

  • Conduct toolbox talks and training sessions to promote welding quality, code compliance, and best practices.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in welding within fabrication or heavy engineering projects.

  • Strong knowledge of ASME, API, AWS & ISO code & standard. ADNOC specification for Piping, Structure, Pressure vessel

  • Experience in welding inspection and NDE coordination.

  • Certification such as CSWIP 3.1 mandatory and IWE is preferable

  • Good communication and coordination skills.
