Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement welding processes and procedures tailored to specific projects and material requirements.
- Carry out inspections and audits of welding activities to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASME, API, AWS) and company specifications.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to maintenance field, production teams and other stakeholders as and when required addressing welding-related issues and suggesting solutions to improve processes.
- Work closely with other function and various stakeholders (i.e., Maintenance Field, Engineering, Projects Management, Fabrication, etc.) to ensure seamless integration of welding activities into broader project plans.
- Develop and deliver training programs related to welding techniques, safety practices, and equipment use to enhance team competency.
- Maintain thorough documentation of welding processes, qualifications, and inspections, generating reports for internal and external audits as required.
- Stay updated on emerging welding technologies and techniques, evaluating their applicability to company projects and processes.
- Ensure that all welding activities are conducted in adherence to safety regulations and best practices to minimize risks and promote a safe working environment.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Metallurgy, Welding Engineering or relevant discipline
- Professional certification (e.g., Certified Welding Engineer (CWE), Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)) is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) and materials used in the industry
- Familiar with industry standards and regulations governing welding practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams.
