Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Welding Inspector is responsible for inspecting and monitoring welding and associated fabrication activities in the offshore fabrication yard to ensure compliance with approved drawings, welding procedures, project specifications, and international codes and standards. The role ensures weld quality, safety, and readiness for client and third?party inspections.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect welding activities including fit?up, root pass, intermediate runs, and final welds for offshore structures.
- Verify compliance with approved WPS, ITP, method statements, and project specifications.
- Ensure correct welding parameters, pre?heat, inter?pass temperature, and welding sequence are followed.
- Monitor joint preparation, alignment, cleanliness, and backing arrangements prior to welding.
