Roles & Responsibilities


Job Summary:

The Welding Inspector is responsible for ensuring all welding activities comply with project specifications, approved WPS, international standards, and client requirements including Saudi Aramco standards. The role involves inspection, documentation, and quality control of welding works for manufacturing of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping, and structural components.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual inspection of welding joints as per approved drawings and WPS.
  • Verify fit-up, joint preparation, alignment, and dimensional accuracy before welding.
  • Ensure compliance with Aramco standards and applicable codes (ASME/API).
  • Monitor welding parameters and welder performance.
  • Witness and review NDT activities (RT, UT, PT, MT).
  • Review and approve WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records.
  • Maintain inspection reports and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC team, production, and client inspectors.
  • Ensure traceability of materials and welding consumables.
  • Raise NCRs for non-conformance and follow up on corrective actions.

Qualification & Certification:

  • Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
  • CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI Certification (Mandatory).
  • Aramco approval preferred.
  • Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, ASME Section IX, and API standards.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 8 years experience in manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Skids, or Structural Fabrication.
  • Prior experience in Aramco projects will be an added advantage.

Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, SAW, FCAW).
  • Good understanding of NDT methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Familiar with quality documentation & inspection test plans (ITP).
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
