Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection of welding activities during fabrication and erection as per approved procedures

  • Ensure all welding is carried out in accordance with WPS, PQR, and project specifications

  • Conduct fit-up inspections, visual inspections, and welding parameter checks

  • Verify welder qualifications (WQT) and ensure only approved welders are deployed

  • Coordinate and witness NDT activities (UT, RT, MT, PT) and review test reports

  • Monitor pre-heating, interpass temperature, and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) where required

  • Review and verify material certificates (MTC) and consumable control records

  • Raise inspection requests (IRs) and coordinate with client/consultant for approvals

  • Identify and report non-conformances (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are implemented

  • Maintain proper QA/QC documentation, welding logs, and inspection reports

  • Ensure compliance with ITPs, QA/QC plans, and international standards (AWS, ASME)

  • Coordinate with site teams, supervisors, and engineers to ensure quality compliance

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in welding inspection (Oil & Gas preferred)

  • Mandatory certification: CSWIP 3.1 or CWI (Certified Welding Inspector)

  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, procedures (WPS/PQR), and codes (AWS, ASME)

  • Experience in NDT coordination and interpretation of reports

  • Familiar with fit-up inspection, welding inspection, and quality documentation

  • Knowledge of material inspection, traceability, and consumable control

  • Understanding of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, and project specifications

  • Familiar with ADNOC standards (preferred)

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Good communication skills in English (spoken and written)

  • Ability to work under site conditions and meet project deadlines

  • Immediate joiners preferred
