Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate a diverse team of carpenters and helpers.
  • Delegate daily tasks effectively, ensuring optimal utilization of manpower and skills.
  • Provide on-the-job training, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Manage team timekeeping, attendance, and resolve any minor disciplinary or interpersonal issues.

Project Execution & Quality Control

  • Read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and material schedules with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Oversee and participate in the installation of all woodwork, including but not limited to:
  • Custom Joinery- High-end kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, vanities, and built-in furniture.
  • Architectural Millwork- Wall paneling, cladding, decorative ceilings, and feature walls.
  • Interior Trim- Complex skirting, crown molding, cornices, and architraves.
  • Doors & Windows- Installation of intricate door frames, solid wood doors, and window components.
  • Perform the most complex carpentry tasks, setting the benchmark for quality.
  • Conduct rigorous and continuous quality control checks to ensure all work meets project specifications and the company's premium standards.

Site Management & Coordination

  • Serve as the primary on-site carpentry lead, coordinating directly with the Project Manager, Main Contractor, and other trades (e.g., MEP, masonry).
  • Plan and manage the sequence of work to align with the master project schedule.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work site in compliance with Qatari health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure the security of all tools, equipment, and materials on site.

Administration & Reporting

  • Prepare and submit daily progress reports to the Project Manager.
  • Monitor material usage and initiate requisitions for materials and tools to avoid project delays.
  • Liaise with the warehouse/store for timely delivery of materials to the site.
  • Track labor hours and quantities for work completed.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Experience- Minimum of 8-10 years of carpentry experience, with at least 3-5 years in a Foreman or Supervisory role on major construction or fit-out projects.

Technical Skills

  • Mastery of all aspects of wood carpentry, from structural framing to high-end finishing.
  • Expertise in operating and maintaining carpentry machinery and hand tools.
  • Proficient in reading complex architectural and shop drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of different wood species, MDF, laminates, and veneers.
  • Leadership & Communication- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to lead a multicultural team.
  • Safety- Strong commitment to safety with a proven track record of enforcing safety protocols.
  • Problem-Solving- Ability to identify problems, propose effective solutions, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Physical Fitness- Must be physically fit and able to work in a demanding environment.
  • Valid QID (Qatar ID) with transferable sponsorship is highly preferred.
  • Valid Qatar Driving License is a significant advantage.
  • Availability to join immediately is often highly valued.
  • Experience working on projects for clients like Ashghal, Qatari Diar, or major private developers is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with the specific quality and safety standards expected on Qatari projects.
