Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities of a Work Permit Receiver


Permit Management:


  • Initiating, completing, and overseeing all required sections of a work permit.

Site Safety Inspections:


  • Conducting thorough inspections of the work area to identify potential hazards and ensuring necessary safety precautions are in place before work begins.

Risk Assessment & Mitigation:


  • Implementing and overseeing risk assessment procedures to identify hazards and ensure appropriate controls and resources, such as safety equipment or standby personnel, are available.

Monitoring & Compliance:


  • Supervising ongoing activities to ensure they are performed safely and comply with safety regulations and agreed-upon procedures.

Communication & Coordination:


  • Acting as a liaison between workers, supervisors, and safety personnel to ensure clear communication and coordinated efforts.

Emergency Preparedness:


  • Developing and implementing emergency response plans, ensuring rescue teams are prepared, and managing emergency responses when they occur.

Documentation:


  • Maintaining meticulous records, ensuring all required paperwork is complete, and properly documenting the progress and completion of the work.
