Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Training & Supervision:

  • Train and mentor junior technicians and new team members.
  • Supervise and coordinate all engine rebuild activities in the workshop.

Task Assignments-:

  • Assign work to technicians based on their skills and workload.

Monitoring-:

· Monitor job progress and provide technical guidance where needed

· Oversee parts ordering and ensure correct components are used

· Ensure engine disassembly, inspection, reassembly, and testing are done per OEM standards (Caterpillar, Cummins, Deutz)

Quality Assurance and Documentation-:

  • Carry out final inspections and quality control on completed engines
  • Prepare and maintain job cards, service reports, and progress updates

Maintenance and Safety Protocols-:

  • Maintain workshop cleanliness, tool control, and adhere to the safety protocols.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Trade Certificate / Diploma in Diesel Mechanics or Mechanical Engineering
  • OEM training or certification from Caterpillar, Cummins, or Deutz (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of electronic diagnostics (ECMs, laptop-based tools like Cummins INSITE, CAT ET, etc.)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in diesel engine rebuilding (preferably with Caterpillar, Cummins, Deutz engines)
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or lead technician role
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engine diagrams, and specifications
  • Experience with tools, measuring equipment, and workshop machines (micrometers, torque wrenches, honing machines, etc.)
  • Understanding of safety and quality control procedures
  • Good leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills for job cards, emails, and parts look-up
