Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The TRS Shop Technician is responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and repair of Tubular Running Services (TRS) equipment in the district shop. This role ensures that equipment is cleaned, inspected, repaired, and made job-ready prior to mobilization to customer locations. The technician will also receive, inspect, and service equipment returning from the field. Work is performed in a warehouse/shop environment with exposure to non-climate-controlled conditions. This position is hourly, rotational, and requires adherence to strict safety and quality standards.
Equipment Preparation & Maintenance
- Perform inspection, cleaning, and routine maintenance on TRS equipment.
- Assemble and test tools and equipment to ensure readiness for job site deployment.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities in accordance with company procedures.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor mechanical repairs.
- Assist with staging and loading equipment for mobilization.
Shop & Warehouse Support
- Receive equipment returning from job sites, ensuring proper decontamination, inspection, and repair.
- Maintain shop cleanliness and organization, including proper storage of tools and parts.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other shop equipment as required (with proper training/certification).
- Ensure all shop activities comply with company safety and environmental standards.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and incident reporting as required.
- Use appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
Other Duties
- Assist other technicians or departments as needed.
- Participate in training to maintain knowledge of TRS equipment and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.br>
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of experience in mechanical, shop, or oilfield operations preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (50 lbs+) regularly.
- Willingness to work in a rotational schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to work in non-climate-controlled warehouse/shop environment.
- Strong focus on safety, teamwork, and attention to detail.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior TRS or oilfield equipment maintenance experience.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Basic understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, or rigging.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.br>

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS
- Shop/warehouse environment (not climate-controlled).
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy equipment.
- Exposure to noise, dust, grease, and outdoor elements.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally with assistance.
- Rotational schedule with overtime as business needs require.
